For some time now, homegrown punks Clowns have been stomping and roaring their way around the scene, making a hellova lot of noise from their native Melbourne in the process. This year, the band released their third LP Lucid Again and ever since the band have been stomping and roaring harder and louder than ever thought possible.
The album was met with a nods of approval from even the sternest of punks followers. Following a series of singles including Dropped My Brain and Pickle, Lucid Again was revealed in it’s full glory on Friday, 28th April. On that day, fans all over the world sunk their teeth into a record that was rapid and assaulting, yet nuanced and thoughtful. It wasn’t long before media caught on, with the album copping some well deserved ratings.
Known for their unrelenting live performance, fans grew weak at the knees upon news of a headline run in support of the release. Before they took to the stage in Sydney, we caught up with Jake and Hannah from the band for a bit of a session at Sydney’s Resist Records.
